Create your account
A free Chatterbox account is all you need to teach. There's no separate teacher account: anyone who creates a class becomes its teacher.
Sign up on the web
- Open the web app: Create an account
- Choose Continue with Google, or enter your name, email address and a password.
- Pick the language you speak and a language to learn. This only sets up your own practice. Each class you create has its own language, so pick whatever you like.
- If you signed up with email, enter the code we send to your inbox.
- Choose a starting level. You'll land on the map, and you're done.
Already have Chatterbox on your phone? Sign in with the same Google account or email, and everything is shared between your phone and the web.
Finding your way around
The menu on the left of the web app has everything this guide uses:
- Classroom: your classes, join codes, homework and progress.
- Exercises: every kind of practice, and Create Custom Dataset for building your own vocabulary sets.
- Menu: your account, your profile and sign out.
Tip: work on a laptop or desktop for planning. The web app is built for a big screen, and your students can use either the web or the phone app.
